Expectations of a

Career Network

„Clubs are much better than their reputation: Nepotism and advantageous thinking are exceptions, common values like honesty, trust and altruism are the rule in networks.

– Alexander Wolf

What can harm a relationship?

1. club members are more unselfish than previously assumed

Only 10% would leave their network if they could not generate orders for themselves, whereas an overwhelming 83% would leave their network if they felt surrounded by too many people with a clear sales interest. 64% even see the bad image of many networks as a result, because „too much selling is going on there“. Only 28% see network relations most likely to be suitable for „recommendations“, most (54%) are only looking for information exchange in networks and are always willing to give more than they get: Only 39% think that giving more than „the other person is willing or able to give“ is a burden for a network relationship.

2. networkers are critical of their networks and do not want staged exclusivity

The network professionals are quite critical of the scene: only 41% have a purely positive opinion of networks. In each case 50% of the asked ones are the opinion that the bad image of networks from too much staged exclusivity develops, and/or originates from the fact that frequently „not the members count and the network exists only for the advantage of the organization“.

Why do so many people have a bad opinion about networks?

3. club members seek classic values and avoid corruption/illegal business

Please indicate what you consider the most important expectations of a network.

Only 34% of club members believe that networks promote corrupt behavior and therefore have a poor public image. Search for values: Most professional networkers look for classic values in clubs such as trust, honesty, integrity and respect. When asked what harms relationships within a network the most, 97% each responded „when one is involved in criminal activities“ and „when one’s

trust is abused“. 96% and 93% respectively see the violation of „sincerity“ or „esteem“ as a network killer. An impressive 72% consider it harmful when relationships develop into nepotism. Goals: New people, new horizons: when asked what the most important expectations of a network are, the most frequently cited answers (with 45% and 44% respectively) were: „Get to know new people“ and „Broaden your horizons&quo
